Tom Bullene Laid To Rest
Unknown - March 28, 1963Requiem Mass was held Monday, March 25, at 10 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church for Tom Bullene, well known former cafe owner in Douglas, who passed away Friday, March 22, at the Converse County Memorial Hospital. Burial was in Douglas Park cemetery.
Thomas W. Bullene was born Feb. 7, 1878 in Seattle, Washington, and in 1900 went to Alaska where he spent the next 14 years.
In 1920 he came to Casper, Wyo., where he was employed at one of the refineries, and in 1924 was united in marriage with Margaret Ferreter of Douglas.
Mr. and Mrs. Bullene together owned and operated the popular Midget Cafe for 33 years until Mr. Bullene's retirement in 1957.
Survivors include his wife Margaret; a sister, Mrs. Ida Mae Spitzley of Coral Gables, Florida, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Tom Curtin, Chuck Lewis, Joe Sullivan, Harold Schellinger, Bob Newman and Paul Curtin.
