Constance Barry Dies Suddenly

Douglas Budget - March 24, 1921

The news of the sudden death of Miss Contance Barry, younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Syndney F. Barry, came with a distinct shock to the community. While it was known that she had been in poor health, it was not supposed that her condition was at all serious. An operation for appendicitis was advised and she underwent the operation at the Casper hospital last Friday, but failed to rally and death ensued.

Miss Barry was born in this county and lived all of her life here. She had just passed her twenty-first birthday, having been born February 14, 1900. She attended the schools here and was a member of the 1919 graduating class of the Converse County High School. A talented, unassuming, lovable young woman, her untimely death brings sadness to all who knew her and sympathy to the afflicted family. Sympathy goes, too, to the young man who was soon to claim her as a bride had not Death intervened.

She is survived by her parents and one sister, Miss Margaret Barry.

Funeral services were held at Christ church Sunday afternoon, Rev. H.R. Brinker officiating. The pallbearers were young men who were her childhood neighbors and companions, Paul Shaw, William Cross, John Sullivan, Stuart Horr, James Leman and Leonard Bartshe. Burial was in Douglas cemetery.
