Fatal Accidents

Bill Barlows Budget - August 14, 1907

Two fatal accidents occurred on this and the division east, of the North-western, Sunday. While loading cattle at Harrison Conductor C.C. Smith, who was in charge of the train, was caught between the cars and the shift gates and so badly injured that he died early Monday morning. At Ainsworth a freight brakeman named Ed Butler was killed, also. Smith was a brother of the well-known passenger conductor Billy Smith and both men were well known and have many friends here.
