Dr. R. Brownfield Killed in
Douglas Budget - May 5, 1921T.J. Brownfield received a message Sunday telling him of the death of his son, Dr. Robert R. Brownfield, as the result of an automobile accident at Phoenix, Ariz. No details of the accident were given, the message coming from Mrs. Brownfield and stating that she was with her husband at the time, but was not seriously injured.
Dr. Brownfield, though but 36 years of age, was one of the leading physicians of Arizona. Last November at Montreal he was made a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a coveted honor in his profession. Last summer he went to Paris and took a post-graduate course, his fifth since he started to practice.
Dr. Brownfield is survived by a wife and one daughter.

Douglas Enterprise - May 3, 1921Dr. R.R. Brownfield, son of Mr. and Mrs. T.J. Brownfield of this city, died at a hospital in Phoenix, Arizona, at 7:50 a.m. Sunday following an auto accident which occurred Saturday evening in which his wife was seriously injured as well. The Doctor was 37 years old and had been a successful practitioner at Phoenix for the past fifteen years. He was one of the very few members of the Fellow American College of Surgeons and was considered one of the best men in his line in that section.
