Douglas Budget - November 20, 1980Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 15, in Salt Lake City for a former Glendo resident, Melbourne Black, 50, who died suddenly at this home in Salt Lake City of an apparent heart attack on Monday, Nov. 10.
He was born at Glendo in March, 1930, to Victor and Charlotte Black. He attended schools at Glendo and at Spokane, Wash., graduating from Glendo High School in 1947. He attended the University of Wyoming, graduating from the college of education, after which he taught industrial arts for a number of years. In recent years he was engaged in the construction industry, and at the time of his death was employed in the federal HUD agency.
Survivors include his wife, Leona; a son, Mark, and also one step-son, all of Salt Lake City; his mother, Charlotte Black and a sister, Phyllis (Mrs. Gerald)Bright, both of Des Moines, Iowa; two daughters, Melanie (Mrs. Gene)Miller of Harrisburg, S.D., and Bonnie of Evanston.
