Douglas Budget - December 6, 1989Funeral Services for Jean Evenlyn S. Bostick, 64, were held Monday, at the Christ Episcopal Church with the Rev. A.H. Bullman officiating. Interment was in the Douglas Park Cemetery. She died Friday, Nov. 24, 1989, at the Memorial Southwest Hospital in Houston, Texas.
Mrs. Bostick was born Jan. 4, 1925, in Douglas, the daughter of John and Dorthea (Nickerson)Schmidt. She was reared and educated in the Douglas area, graduating from the Converse County High School in 1943. She then attended Weber State College in Utah and the University of Wyoming in Laramie.
In Ogden, Utah, she was married to Paul J. Bostick, Jr., a geologist for Hunt Oil Company. The lived in Wyoming, Colorado, Montana, California, Louisiana and Texas. While living in Laramie, she was secretary to the Right Rev. Wilson Hunter at St. Matthews Cathedral. She was an Episcopalian.
Survivors include one son, Paul J. Bostick III, of San Antonio, Texas; daughter, Patricia K. Rivera, of Houston, Texas; two brothers, Jack R. Schmidt of Casper, and Don M. Schmidt of Torrington; three grandchildren, John Richard Rivera Jr., of Houston, Jennifer N. Bostick and Jon Noah Bostick, both of San Antonio; three nieces and four nephews.
She was preceded in death by both parents, her husband, and an infant sister.
A memorial to the Altar Guild of Christ Episcopal Church in Douglas would be appreciated by the family.
Serving as pallbearers were Paul Jon Bostick III, Michael L. Rone, John P. Schmidt, James C. Dugan, Marvin R. Rone, and Stan Reed.
The Converse Funeral Chapel of Douglas was in charge of the arrangements.
