Nickolas E. Berg, 77, a former resident of Douglas for many years, died May 23 at his home at Fosston, Minn. He had been in poor health for about four years.

Mr. Berg first came to Douglas in 1912 and made his home here until 1926 when he moved to Queen Township, Minn. He returned here several years ago and remained about three years before returning to Minnesota. During the years Mr. Berg lived in Douglas, he built a number of residences and other buildings.

Nickolas E. Berg was born Sept. 1, 1872 at Leavenworth, Kan. In 1912 he was married to Agnes Anderson at Harrison, Neb., and in the same year they moved to Douglas. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son and a daughter, and several brothers and sisters.
