Mother Dies

Bill Barlows Budget - September 24, 1914

Mrs. Dora M. Brown died Saturday evening, September 19, 1914, after a lingering illness. She was recently taken to the hospital and was thought to be improving. Her sons Jas. W. Brown of Omaha and W.E. Brown of Gordon, Nebr., were here last weeks to see her and departed for their homes thinking that she would be all right in a short time.

Mrs. Brown was born in Massachusetts, December 14, 1850. She was the mother of eight children. Two of her daughters, the Misses Ada B. and Jeanette Brown are teachers in the public schools of Douglas. The mother came here to be with her children and they were keeping house in the Clelland home.

Funeral services were held at the home Sunday morning conducted by Rev. Hicks of the Methodist church. The mortal remains, accompanied by the two daughters, were taken to Hay Springs, Nebraska, and placed at rest beside her husband who died several years ago.
