ESTERBROOK WOMAN DIES HERE
SUNDAY AFTERNOON Mrs. Mabel Bidwell Claimed, Services and Burial Near Her Mountain Home
Douglas Budget - April 24, 1941Mrs. Mabel Bidwell, wife of W.H. Bidwell of near Esterbrook, passed away in Douglas at the home of Mr. Bidwell's mother, about 3:00 o'clock last Sunday afternoon. She died at the age of 53 years, seven months and 14 days.
The body, in charge of the Hofmann Mortuary, was taken to Esterbrook Wednesday afternoon where funeral services were held at the graveside and burial made in the Esterbrook cemetery.
Mable Hawkinson was born September 6, 1887, at Wahoo, Neb., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Hawkinson. She had been a resident of this area for the past 20 years. Her husband operates a sawmill near Esterbrook.
She is survived by her husband; a sister, Mrs. H. Orthengreen of Grant, Neb., and a brother, Oscar Hawkinson of Valparaiso, Neb. Here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Orthengreen and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Young, a niece, and daughter, Shirley Ann, all of Grant, Neb.
