Funeral services for George W. Booth, 77, were held Tuesday, Oct. 1, 1994, at the Converse Funeral Chapel in Douglas.

The Rev. H.R. Kennedy, retired from the Assembly of God Church in Casper, officiated. Interment was in the Douglas Park Cemetery.

Mr. Booth, of Douglas, died Friday, Oct. 7 at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper.

He was born June 9, 1917, in Akron, Colo., to Floyd W. and Edith (Pierson) Booth. He moved with his family in 1924 to Midwest, where he was reared and educated. In 1939 the family moved to Douglas.

He married Maxine DeWitt on Sept. 3, 1940, in Harrison, Neb. He owned and operated a trucking business for many years and then did carpentry work for 20 years, retiring in 1979.

He was a member of the Assembly of God Church. He loved gardening, hunting, animals and farming.

He i survived by his wife, Maxine, of Douglas; sons Bill of Casper, Tom and Dan of Douglas, and Earl of Salem, Mo.; daughters Leona Corn of Maob, Utah, Linda Scholting of Rio Vista, Calif., and Loretta Taylor and Lona Cross of Douglas; 17 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Marion and Marvin, and sister Doris Booth.

Serving as pallbearers were Elbert N. McGehee, Josh Booth, Robert Perrine, Ted Booth, Andy Elliott and Marv Booth.

The Converse Funeral Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.
