Former Douglas man dies in
Douglas Budget - January 31, 1985Word has been received of the death of former Douglas resident, Charles William Brock. He died on Jan. 9, 1985 at Pahrump, Nevada.
Mr. Brock was born on March 22, 1911 in Fairbury, Nebraska. He came to the Douglas area as a small child where his parents homesteaded in 1916. As a young man he worked as a cowboy in the area.
In 1946 he married, Helen Pfeifer Amick of Douglas and they ranched for many years in the area until 1965, when he moved to Billings, Montana. He continued to work on ranches near Billings and later in Nevada, until he retired in 1980 because of ill health.
Mr. Brock resided in Pahrump until the time of his death.
Survivors included his wife Helen of Pahrump; daughter Mrs. Charles (Joyce) Lee of Billings; step daughters Donna Simonsen of Las Vegas, Nevada and Mrs. Ken (Barbara)Heinz of Lancaster, California; brother Thomas A. Brock of Cortez, Colorado; sister Mrs. Ray (Margaret)Walters of Mins, Florida; one grandson and two step-grandchildren.
Mr. Brock enjoyed his family, working with livestock and especially appreciated the wide open spaces of the states in which he lived.
Cremation was handled by Palm Mortuary of Las Vegas.
Memorial services has been tentatively scheduled in the spring at Douglas Park Cemetery, Douglas, Wyoming.
