Douglas Budget - January 12, 2000Cremation has taken place in Las Vegas, Nev., for Helen Elizabeth Pfeifer Brock, 83.
A memorial service will be held in Douglas in the spring. Mrs. Brock died Jan. 5 in Las Vegas after a brief hospitalization.
She was born Aug. 8, 1916 in Douglas to Andrew and Anna Pfeifer. She grew up and attended school in Douglas.
Her first marriage was to Byron Simonson and, to this union a daughter, Donna, was born. She later married Roy Amick and a second daughter, Barbara, was born.
She was later married to Charles William (Bill) Brock. The couple ranched in the Douglas area. A third daughter, Joyce, was born.
The family later moved to Billings, Mont., and then to Las Vegas, where Bill died in 1985. Mrs. Brock then lived with her daughter Donna in Las Vegas until the time of her death.

She is survived by her sister, Emma Williams, of Douglas; daughters Donna Simonson of Las Vegas, Barbara Heinz of Lancaster, Calif., and Joyce Lee of Billings; four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Douglas Budget - June 14, 2000Graveside services and inurnment for Helen Elizabeth Brock, 83, will be held Sat 2 p.m., June 20 at Douglas Park Cemetery, with Father Andrew Duncan of St. James Catholic Church officiating.
A coffee at the Douglas Senior Citizen's Center will be held following the service.
Mrs. Brock, formerly of Douglas, died Jan. 5 in Las Vegas, Nev.
She was born Aug. 8, 1916, in Douglas to Andrew and Anna(Holtkamp)Pfeifer. She was reared and educated in Douglas.
She married Byron Simonson in 1936. To this union a daughter, Donna Simonson, was born. In 1940, she married Roy Amick and her second daughter, Barbara, was born. In 1946 she and Charles "Bill" Brock entered into marriage. They had a daughter, Joyce Lee.
Mrs. Brock lived in Las Vegas for the past 19 years. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, ranching and cooking for large groups. In her later years she also liked to play Bingo.
She is survived by daughters Donna Simonson of Las Vegas, Barbara Heinz of Lancaster, Calif., and Joyce Lee of Billings, Mont.; sister Emma Williams of Douglas; grandchildren Robert W.(Bill)Gibson. Sue L. Speek, Charles P. Lee and Olivia Lee; and great-grandchildren Kevin Gibson, Sara Gibson, Crystal Dupee and Nicole Dupee.
Converse Funeral Chapel of Douglas is in charge of arrangements.
