Douglas Budget - July 9, 1987Graveside services for Charles Donat Bauman, 95, were held Friday, July 3 at the Douglas Park Cemetery. The Samuel Mares American Legion Post No. 8 conducted military graveside rites.
Mr. Bauman died Tuesday, June 30 at his home in Alamo, Texas.
He was born March 30, 1892 in Nebraska to John and Johanna (Seger) Bauman. He came to Wyoming and homesteaded north of Douglas on Box Creek.
In the 1920s he worked as a driller in the Salt Creek Oil Fields. After selling his ranch he moved into Douglas and worked as a painter and decorator for several years.
He was married to Teresa Boles.
He served in the U.S. Navy during WWI. In December of 1986 he and his wife moved to Texas to be near their nephew Lewis Baughman.
He is survived by his wife of Alamo; two sisters, Barbara Bauman and Marie Holtzfaster both of California; and sister-in-law, Agnes Bauman of Alamo. He was preceded in death by his parents and his twin brother.
A memorial to the St. James Catholic Church would be appreciated by the family.
The Converse Funeral Chapel of Douglas was in charge of the local arrangements.
