Douglas Budget - December 6, 1979Funeral services were held Nov. 18, 1979 at Grovier Bros. Chapel in Broken Bow, Nebr., for Frank Evans Barrett with Rev. Keith Johnson officiating. Interment was in the Merna Cemetery.
Frank was born May 26, 1946 in Broken Bow, Nebr., to the late Joy Barrett, and Beryl Tooker. He graduated from Merna High School in May of 1964. He died in Douglas on Nov. 15, 1979 following a car accident.
Frank married Cheryl Rush on July 4, 1964. To this union two children were born, Michelle and Mark.
Immediately following high school he served three years in the United States Army. In 1968 he was employed by Kansas-Nebraska Natural Gas Co. and continued to work for the same company until the time of his death. During his employment with Kansas-Nebraska, he lived in four different towns namely Broken Bow and Bertrand, Nebr., and in Glenrock and Douglas.
Frank is survived by his wife, Cheryl, daughter Michelle and son Mark still residing at home, mother Beryl Barrett of Broken Bow, two brothers, John of Omaha and Martin of Aurora, and five sisters; Virginia Mackley of Arnoid, Arlene Rodriquez of Los Angeles, Patsy Barrett of Aurora, Lois Whitteman of Broken Bow, and Helen Evans of Grand Island. Many nieces and nephews and a host of friends mourn his passing.
