Douglas Budget - June 19, 1996Funeral services for Lucille L. Beaver, 89, will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 20, at the First United Methodist Church in Douglas.
The Rev. Bill Moore will officiate. Interment and graveside rites by Mountain View Rebekah Lodge No. 15 will be at Douglas Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Beaver died Sunday, June 16, 1996, at Michael Manor in Douglas following a long illness.
She was born April 6, 1907, in Fairfield, Neb., to Charles and Charlotte(Sweeley)Anderson. She was reared and educated in Nebraska.
She married William Louis Beaver on Nov. 6, 1924, in Douglas. they had a homestead in the Walker Creek area north of Douglas. They moved to eastern Nebraska for a few years, then returned to Douglas in 1934.
Mrs. Beaver was a member of First United Methodist Church, Mountain View Rebekah Lodge No. 15, Past Grands and a charter member of the Live and Learn Homemakers Club.
She is survived by three daughters, Merna McKillip of Batesville, Ark., Mildred Shatto and Beth Lundberg, both of Douglas; 12 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband William Beaver on May 9, 1983; son Kenneth; sister Lois Lore; brother Wayne Anderson; and one grandson.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Gary Shatto, Larry Shatto, Kerry Shatto, Stanley Lundberg, Steve Lundberg and Mike Blackman.
Honorary pallbearers will be all of her many friends.
A memorial to the Douglas Senior Citizens' Center, 304 First Street West, would be appreciated by the family.
