Glen R. Blackburn, 77, of Cheyenne died Dec. 10 in Wheatland.

He was born April 28, 1923, in Rochelle, Ill., and had lived in Cheyenne for 45 years.

Mr. Blackburn served in the Army during World War II. He was an electrician in maintenance at the VA medical center for 30 years.

Mr. Blackburn was a member of Amateur Radio Operators of Wyoming. Model Airplane Club and the American Legion in Glendo and was mayor of Glendo from 1988-92.

He was on the Glendo City Council from 1985-88 and served on the board of directors for the Senior Housing Association.

He is survived by his wife Helen Blackburn of Cheyenne whom he married Oct. 2, 1950; his mother Florence Blackburn of Douglas; brothers Robert Blackburn of Douglas and Jim Blackburn of Glenrock; sisters Patricia Sanders of Eureka, Mont., Georgia Monger of Casper and Lucille Stock of Douglas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harold A. Blackburn, and a brother, Gerald Blackburn.

Services for Mr. Blackburn were held Dec. 15 at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes with Pastor Amado Lobatos officiating. Interment was in Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
