Funeral services for John Henry Bloem, age 84, will be held Friday, May 18, 1984 at 10:30 a.m. at the Converse Funeral Chapel with Rev. Robert Nuhn officiating. Interment will be in the Douglas Park Cemetery.

Mr. Bloem died Monday, May 14, 1984 at the Memorial Hospital of Natrona County in Casper after a short illness.

Jack, the son of Henry and May Blanchard Bloem was born December 31, 1899 at Pauline, Nebraska. He was reared and educated at Pauline. He then moved and worked in Grand Island, Nebraska for a few years. He was married to Fanny Larkin on July 24, 1920 at Grand Island, Nebraska.

In 1926 they moved to Bayard, Nebraska, and in 1932 they moved to Glendo, Wyoming. They lived there for one year, moving to Douglas in 1933. He worked as an auctioneer and owned and operated Jack's New and Used Furniture and Jack's Antiques which he had operated for 31 years. He retired in 1979, remaining a resident of Douglas until the time of his death. He was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America, AARP, and the Douglas Senior Citizens.

He is survived by his wife, Fanny, of Douglas, Wy.; one sister, Ruth Kressow of Genesee, Id.; two grandchildren, Jack L. Bloem of Glenrock, Wy. and Renee Hossack of Douglas, Wy.; four great grandchildren, Rob, Brenda, and Mike Bloem all of Glenrock, Wy. and Holt Hossack of Douglas, Wy.; daughter-in-law, Grace Bloem Leeling of Douglas, Wy.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jack was preceded in death by one son, Elmer Bloem, in 1964; three brothers; one sister; and one great granddaughter.

Serving as pallbearers were Gordon Smith, Rex Gates, Max Rothleutner, Willard Ivester, Jerry Miller, and John Japp.

A memorial to the Converse County Cancer Fund or to the Converse County memorial Hospital would be greatly appreciated by the family.

The Converse Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
