Douglas Budget - June 4, 1981John E. Cundall, 69, Terry, Montana, died early Monday morning, at Prairie Manor Apartments in Terry.
He was born July 10, 1911 in Sutton, Nebr., the son of William and Molly Cundall. He was raised and educated in Nebraska and moved to Glendo, Wyo., with his parents in 1927 to farm.
He married Nila Low, Dec. 17, 1934 in Wheatland, Wyo. He farmed in Wyoming until 1949 when he went to work in the oil fields. He moved to Montana where he continued to work in the oil fields. His last employer was Western Oil Well Service.
He retired in 1968 and in the 1976 moved to Terry where he and his wife managed the Prairie Manor apartments until his death. He was a member of the Methodist Church in Terry and enjoyed the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife of Terry; two sons, Jack of Glendive and Harold of Roosevelt, Utah; three daughters, Mrs. John (JoAnn) Sentz of Roosevelt, Utah, Mrs. Bob (Pat) Eiker of Glendive, and Mrs. Mike (Linda) Niedge of Miles City; three brothers, George and Clyde of Glendo, Wyo., Don of Glenrock; two sisters, Mrs. Viola Hughes of Glendo, Mrs. Dorothy Sullivan of Rock Springs; eleven grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and one step-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Leonard.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 28, at the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Terry with the Rev. Rudy Nauch officiating.
Pallbearers were Mickey Bentz, Paul Eiker, Rocky Bentz, Stacey Cundall, Brent Cundall and Brad Davis.
Interment was in Dawson County Cemetery in Glendive with Silvernale Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
