Douglas Budget - May 3, 1973Leo Alford Ainslie, son of Jesse and Elizabeth Ainslie, was born March 18, 1940 in Hay Springs, Nebraska and passed away on April 23, 1973 at the Meeker County Memorial Hospital, Litchfield, Minnesota.
Leo spent his childhood with his family on a farm southwest of Hay Springs, Nebraska and attended rural school. he attended the Hay Springs High School and was graduated in 1957.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1959 to 1963.
On May 25, 1962 he was united in marriage to Elaine Douglas and to this union three children were born; Connie Sue, Deborah Jean and James Ray.
Upon his ddischarge from the service he was employed in Douglas, Wyoming and in 1964 moved to Riverton, Wyoming to become the manager of the L P Gas Plant. In 1971 he moved to Cosmos, Minnesota where he was manager of the Polar Chemical and Gas Company until the time of his death.
He was baptized and received into membership of the Douglas, Wyoming United Methodist Church in 1964. Leo was an active church member and served as Sunday School teacher, church board member and member of the Methodist Men in Riverton, Wyoming. In the Cosmos United Methodist Church he was serving as Sunday School teacher and Lay Leader at the time of his death.
He was a member of the Cosmos Fire Department and Rescue Squad, Lion's Club, Commercial Club and Chairmen of the Cosmos Space Festival Committee.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine; his three children; his parents; five brothers, William Ainslie of Jeffery City, Wyoming, Phy M. and W. Arthur of Hay Springs, Nebraska, Robert C. of Douglas, Wyoming, and Donald M. of Gaston, Oregon; two sisters, Mrs. Ray (Edna) Morton, Douglas, Wyoming and Mrs. Donald (Frances) Robbins in Germany; many other relatives and friends.
