Douglas Budget - March 13, 1952Last rites were conducted Tuesday afternoon for Frank Amspoker, 72, long-time Converse county rancher, who died March 7 at Tucson, Ariz., after an illness of many months. Rev. H. H. Lindeman officiated at the services held at Stark's chapel and burial was in Douglas Park cemetery.
Mr. Amspoker and his wife had gone to Tucson several months ago in hopes the climate would improve his health but he continued to fail until death claimed him.
Frank Amspoker was born October 31, 1879 in Adams country, Iowa, the son of Samuel and Mary Amspoker. He moved to Nebraska with his parents in 1884 and resided there until he moved to Wyoming in 1900. He settled in this community in 1902 and had made his home here continuously since. For several years he was associated with a brother, J. C. Amspoker. in the ranching business but, for the past 40 years had owned and operated the Sage Creek ranch northwest of Douglas.
On April 4, 1912, he was united in marriage with Grace Atherton, who survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Gertrude J. Sundquist of Douglas; two brothers, J. C. Amspoker of Denver and Ross of Springview, Neb.; a sister, Mrs. H. E. McKee of Gregory, S. D., and a number of nephews and nieces.
Out-of-town folks here to attend the funeral included his brother Ross, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Ripley, all of Springview, Mr. and Mrs. H. S. Miles and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Miles of Ainsworth, Neb., Lloyd McKee and Mr. and Mrs. I. Q. Haggard of Gregory, S. D.
