Baker, W.R. (Unknown - January 18, 1920)

Pioneer Cowboy Called to Death

Douglas Budget - January 22, 1920

W.R. Baker, one of the pioneer cowmen of Wyoming, died Sunday morning, after a long illness. Mr. Baker was a native of Texas, where he was born 85 years ago. He came over the Texas trail to Wyoming with Lee Moore in 1880. When Mr. Moore became foreman of the O-O outfit, Baker went to work for him and had been with him ever since. For the last ten years he had been in poor health and was cared for by his old employer.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, Rev. W.H.L. Marshall officiating. Burial was in Douglas cemetery.
