Former Resident Dies In Denver

Douglas friends have learned of the death last Friday in a Denver hospital of Mrs. Oral Brannan, 33, probably better known here as Oral Logan, for many years a resident of Douglas.

She passed away after a year of failing health after seeking relief at Basin and Denver. Her husband, Carl Brannan, whom she married in April, 1941, is serving with an aviation engineer battalion in the European theatre. Her mother, Mrs. J.H. Russell, former Douglas resident with property on South Third Street, now resides at Hamilton Dome, Wyo., where Mr. Russell is employed.

Other survivors are her father, Roy Sevier of Thedford, Neb., a brother, Paul Sevier of San Francisco, and a grandmother, Mrs. Lula Sevier of Sargent, Neb.

Oral Sevier was born in Walworth, Neb. She came to Douglas when a young woman and lived here a number of years. She was first married to Kenneth Logan and later to Wray Lovitt. Leaving Douglas about five years ago she had been making her home in Casper.

Funeral services were held in Casper this morning at 11 o'clock.

Mrs. Oral Brannan, 33, daughter of Mrs. J.H. Russell of Douglas, passed away Friday in Denver following a year's illness, friends here have learned.

The body was shipped to Casper Sunday and funeral services have been tentatively set for 11:00 o'clock Thursday morning at the Bustard Funeral home in Casper. Burial will be at Casper.

Mrs. Brannon (sic) Brannan was born at Walworth, Neb., and reared in Nebraska and Douglas. She was married in 1941 at Harrison, Neb.

Surviving are her mother, Mrs. J.H. Russell; her father, Roy Sevier of Bedford, Neb.; her husband, Carl H. Brannan, who is serving overseas; and a brother, Paul Sevier of San Francisco.
