Douglas Budget - June 30, 1977Former Douglas resident, Herman "Doc" Bloem passed away June 21, 1977 at Lewiston, Idaho of cancer. He was born November 2, 1909 at Pauline, Nebraska.
Doc moved to Douglas in 1930 and made his home here until 1957 when he moved to Lewiston, Idaho where he was employed by Finnell Farm at Culdesac, Idaho. He retired in February because of poor health.
Doc served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Douglas American Legion.
His daughter, Muriene, preceded him in death. Also his mother, father, and two brothers.
He is survived by two brothers, Jack and Breogie of Douglas; two sisters, Marjorie Flori of Kodiak, Alaska, and Ruth Krascow of Colton, Washington and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were held Monday, June 27, at 2 p.m. at the Stark-Lapham Funeral Home. Reverend Bob Norris, officiating.
Interment in Douglas Park Cemetery.
Casket Bearers were Steve Henson, Butch Bloem, Jack Bloem, Ray Anderson, Bob McMackin and Andy Henson.
