William Roger "Bill" Vonsell was born June 18th, 1954 at Lusk, Wyoming, the oldest of six children, and was taken to rest on May 23, 1976 following a mining accident.

Bill graduated from Niobrara County High School with the class of 1972. He was a 12 year classmate. He was active in basketball through high school, a member of the "L" club, president of the Spanish Club, Vice President of National Honor Society, and active in Photography Club.

Bill attended Casper College from the fall of 1972 until the spring of 1974. While in college he was active in various clubs and president of the Tri Dorm. While in college he met Linda Joyce Haun of Worland and they were married on May 4, 1974 at Worland, Wyoming. After their marriage they made their home at Douglas where he was employed by Mine Contractors, Inc., at the Bill Smith Mine owned by Kerr McGee and she was employed by the Converse County School District.

Bill and Joyce were both active members of Zion Lutheran Church of Douglas.

Bill enjoyed the outdoors and participated in hunting, fishing, archery, and camping as often as possible.

He is survived by his widow, Linda Joyce of Douglas, both parents Roger and Beverly of Lusk, one sister, Connie of Casper, four brothers, Bob, John, Jim, and Cory of Lusk, grandmothers Hazel Walker and Frances Bonsell also of Lusk.

Interment was at the Lusk Cemetery on May 25, 1976. Pallbearers were Don Keene, Glen Lewis, Bob Fawlkers, Ken Anderson, Dale Urbigkit and Larry Rodekohr. A memorial has been set up in his name of Zion Lutheran Church.
