Douglas Budget - August 10, 2005Services for Katherine Theresa Sullivan Berquist, 77, will be at 10 a.m. Aug. 11 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 604 S. Center St., in Casper. She died Aug. 1, 2005.
She was born to Margaret and Jack Sullivan on Oct. 17, 1927, and had eight siblings.
She attended St. Anthony's and Natrona County High School and graduated in 1945. She attended Carrol College in Helena, Mont., and earned her nursing degree in 1948.
She married Rudolph Carl (Bud) Berquist on April 25, 1950. They had five children and raised them all in Casper. Mrs. Berquist was a warm and caring mother whose family washer main focus, which is reflected in the strength and bond of her children.
She took each day as a challenge and made the most of whatever she was able to do, never complaining. She truly is and has always been a hero.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud; parents, Margaret and Jack Sullivan; brother Jackie; and sisters June Becker, Mary Sinadin and Betty Adams.
She will be missed every day by friends and family and is survived by brothers Msgns. Gene and Gerry Sullivan of Cheyenne; sisters Dorothy Reichmuth of Kansas City, Kan., and Anne Diehl of Red Bluff, Calif.; children Tom Berquist of Kalispell, Mont., Terry Antelman of Gilbert, Ariz., Tim Berquist of Spokane, Wash., Tammerah Robertson of Shelby, Mont., and Toni Patterson of Douglas. She was also blessed with 10 wonderful grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A rosary will be held at Newcomber Family Funeral Home at 7 p.m., Aug. 10.
