Douglas Budget - November 28, 1990Funeral services for Raymond Henry Bey, 87, were held Nov. 26, at the Wheatland Bible Church in Wheatland, with Pastor Gordon Swedberg officiating. Interment was in the Wheatland Cemetery.
Mr. Bey died Thursday, Nov. 22, 1990 at the Platte County Memorial Hospital in Wheatland after a lengthy illness.
He was born Sept. 12, 1903 at Newkirk, Okla. the son of Frederick and Johannah (Thiele) Bey. He moved to Syracuse, Neb. and later to Burlington, Colo. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Wheatland Bible Church.
Raymond and Mabel West, of Lincoln, Neb., were married on Sept. 26, 1942 in Denver, Colo. Following their wedding, they moved to Wheatland. He loved his Lord and lost no opportunity to witness for Him.
His parents and one sister, Ellen Brown, preceded him in death.
He leaves not to mourn, but to revere his memory, his wife of 48 years, Mabel, of Wheatland; son John and his wife, Tandie, grandchildren, Stacey and Jeremy Bey all of Douglas; four sisters, Ada Brown, Alice Sones, Frances Nusbaum, and Junita Higins all of Denver, Colo.; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins far too many to list.
Serving as pallbearers were Everett Ayers, Galen Houser, Ed Hunter, Einer Mickelsen, Albert Prather, and Wes Walton.
A memorial to the Wheatland Bible Church, Public Health Agency, or to American Missonary Fellowship would be appreciated by the family.
The Platte Funeral Chapel of Wheatland was in charge of the arrangements.
