Services for Clarence Brewer
Douglas Budget - May 2, 1957Last rites for Clarence E. Brewer, 85, were held this afternoon at 2:00 at Stark's chapel with the Rev. John Cox of The First Methodist church officiating. Burial was in the Masonic plot in Douglas Park cemetery with Ashlar Lodge No. 10 A.F. & A.M. conducting the graveside service.
Mr. Brewer died April 29 in Memorial hospital.
Clarence Edwin Brewer was born January 12, 1872, in Missouri. On Feb. 15, 1902, he was united in marriage with Sarah V. Pearl. The couple resided near Chamois, Mo., until the death of his wife in 1907. In 1913, Mr. Brewer and children came to Converse county, where he took up a homestead. For 18 years, he was employed by the Meyer Livestock and Land Co., and following that he was employed on several ranches in this area until he retired several years ago. For the past 11 years he had made his home with his daughter at Orpha.
Survivors include a son, Harry, and a daughter, Mrs. Agnes Richards, both of Orpha; one brother, Clement, and a sister, Mrs. Lena Drury, both of Saint Louis, Mo.; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
