The Ralph Ballards Lose Infant
Douglas Budget - March 27, 1941Gerald Irwin Ballard, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Ballard of Lance Creek, died at the Douglas hospital about eight o'clock Tuesday evening. He was one year, seven months and four days old.
The infant boy took sick at his home in Lance Creek and after three days of high fever was brought to Douglas by his grandmother, Mrs. Oskins and placed in the Douglas hospital. He was three days in the hospital. Death was attributed to a heart ailment following bronchial pneumonia.
Gerald was born in Douglas on August 21, 1939, and lived here until last fall when he went with his parents to Lance Creek to live. He was the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Ballard.
He leaves beside his parents, his grandmother, Mrs. Trella Oskins, three great grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. M.W. Oskins and Mrs. Charles Lutcavish of Laramie, and numerous other relatives.
Funeral services are being held this afternoon at the Baptist church, Rev. J.M. Falconer officiating.
