Memorial services for Lawrence "Larry" Baker, 71, of Douglas, were May 8 at First United Pentecostal Church in Douglas with Pastor Timothy Roemer officiating.

Mr. Baker died May 5 at memorial Hospital of Converse County.

He was born Oct. 7, 1927, in Douglas to John and Myrtle(Burk)Baker. He was reared and educated in Douglas.

Mr. Baker served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Following his discharge, he returned to Douglas and worked as a driller in the oil fields. He married Diane Adams in 1954. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his mother, Myrtle Baker of Douglas; children Larry Baker and wife Lori of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Myra Baker of Lomita, Calif.; sisters Faye Harrison of Nashville, Ill., Norma Dunn of Casper, Isabel Henson of Douglas, Betty Schnek of Osceola, Iowa; brother Richard Baker of Casper; granddaughter Briana Baker of Colorado Springs; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and brothers William Baker and Johnny Baker.

Honorary pallbearers were all his friends.

Memorials to MHCC Hospice program, 111 S. Fifth Street, Douglas, would be appreciated by the family.

Converse Funeral Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.
