Funeral services for Loren R. Blythe, 66, will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 26, at Converse Funeral Chapel.

Interment will take place at a later date in Green Lawn Cemetery in Pratt, Kan.

Mr. Blythe died Sunday, June 21, at United Medical Center in Cheyenne from injuries received in an automobile accident.

He was born May 6, 1932, in Pratt to Roy and Elsie(Evans) Blythe. He was reared and educated in Pratt, graduating from Pratt High School. He attended junior college in Kansas and was employed by J.C. Penny Co. for 20 years in Denver and had a shoe business in Golden Colo.

In 1978 he moved to Douglas and started The Shoe Place which he owned and operated until his death. He enjoyed coin collecting, his dogs, Lexie and Dennis, traveling and fishing.

He is survived by children, Susan Younkman of Pratt, Lori Ramirez of Lakewood, Colo., Lisa Arellano of Douglas and Larry Blythe of Wheat Ridge, Colo; brother Marlin Blythe of Pratt; sister Velma Luck of Liberal, Kan.; grandchildren Jessika and Kayla Ramirez of Lakewood and Melissa, Nathan and Shane Younkman of Pratt; and great-grandson, Tristan Younkman of Pratt.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Honorary pallbearer will be Ray Hoopman. Memorials to the Diabetes Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
