Barkdoll, Adelaide (Tachovsky) (February 27, 1906 - December 3, 1988)
Douglas Budget - December 7, 1988Funeral services for Adelaide Barkdoll, age 82, will be held Wednesday, Dec. 7 at 10 a.m. at the Glendo Community Church with the Rev. Jon Laughlin officiating. Interment will be in the Horseshoe Cemetery in Glendo.
Mrs. Barkdoll died Saturday, Dec. 3 at Michael Manor Nursing Home following a long illness.
She was born Feb. 27, 1906 at Wilber, Neb., the daughter of Frank and Bessie (Svobada)Tachovsky.
At an early age she moved with her family west of Glendo where the family homesteaded. She was reared and educated in the Glendo area and graduated from Glendo High School. Following graduation she taught rural school west of Glendo.
On May 25, 1926 she married Hubert Barkdoll in Casper. Following their marriage they followed the oil industry. In 1929 they returned to the Glendo area where they homesteaded.
In 1976 Hubert and Adelaide Barkdoll celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at Esterbrook. Mrs. Barkdoll was a 48-year member of the Homemakers Extension Club.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Robert and Betty Barkdoll of Orin Junction; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Mrs. Barkdoll was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two brothers.
Serving as pallbearers are George Cundall, Robert Collins, Leo Foy, Don Sanborn, Bill Gray and Jack Eller.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for the Glendo Community Church.
The Converse Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
