Douglas Budget - October 4, 1989Funeral services for Roy David Bowdish, 58, were held Tuesday at the Platte Funeral Chapel with Pastor Gordon Swedburg officiating. Mr. Bowdish died Friday, Sept. 29, 1989 at Henry, Neb. following a brief illness.
Mr. Bowdish was born Feb. 9, 1931 at Mitchell, Neb., the son of Craig and Elmra Lantis Bowdish. His family moved to Wheatland where he received his education and he went to work for Hopkins Construction Co. in 1948 working with this company until 1963.
On July 22, 1949 he married Gladys Anderson in Torrington. In 1970 they moved to Douglas where they farmed and ranched until the spring of 1987 when they moved to Henry, Neb.
Mr. Bowdish was an avid hunter and fisherman, loving the out-of-doors.
He is survived by his wife Gladys; sons Ernest Douglas of Wheatland, George Douglas of Henry, Neb. and Bill Douglas of Puerto Rico; and daughter Jean Good of Lingle. He is also survived by his sisters, Lela Anderson, Ada Thomas, and Ruby Lantis of Casper, Laura Poling of Wichita, Kan., and Hazel Chapin of Wheatland; brothers, Lawrence of Kaycee, Ralph of Casper, Floyd of Hayden, Colo. and Ed of Rock Springs.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson and a twin brother.
Serving as pallbearers were Don Coy, Jerry Dilts, Fred Hageman, Louis Stock, Len Foster and Jim Wilhelm.
A memorial fund has been established to the Hospice Regional West Medical Center, 4021 Ave. B, Scottsbluff, Neb. 69349
Platte Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
