Douglas Budget - February 1, 1989Funeral services for William S. "Bill" Bergan, 60, were held Friday, Jan. 27, at the Community Baptist Church in Glenrock with the Rev. Alan Bean officiating. Interment was in the Glenrock Cemetery.
Mr. Bergan died Tuesday, Jan. 24, at his home of a heart attack. He was born May 21, 1928 in Wheatland, the son of John and Ida (Miller) Bergan. In 1933 he moved to Glenrock and was reared and educated in that location.
On July 21, 1949 he married Esther M. Roush in Hot Springs, S.D. He was an auto mechanic and worked at various shops in Glenrock. In 1968 he had his own shop. He worked there until the time of his death. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his wife Esther of Glenrock; mother Ida of Glenrock; one son Arthur of Glenrock; one daughter Sharon Dukes of Ellston, Iowa; and two sisters Mary Frances Hassman of Washington and Betty Hager of Cheyenne. He was preceded in death by his father and one daughter, Judy Bergan.
Serving as pallbearers were Charles Huxtable, Robert Shore, Don Cundall, Mike Tober, Gary Wilcox and Orville Hakalo. Serving as honorary pallbearers were all of his many friends.
A memorial to William S. "Bill" Bergan Memorial Fund would be equally appreciated by the family.
The Converse Funeral Chapel of Douglas was in charge of the arrangements.
