Douglas Budget - April 8, 1992Services for Kenneth Wayne Beaver, 66, were held April 3 at the Church of Woodmoor in Monument, Colo., with Rev. Leonard W. Dobson and Dr. Robert Browning officiating. Interment was in Fort Logan National Cemetery.
Mr. Beaver died March 29, 1992 in Colorado Springs, Colo., following a six month illness from cancer.
He was born Sept. 13, 1925 in Douglas, the son of William Lewis and Lucile L.(Anderson)Beaver. He was educated in Douglas and graduated from the University of Wyoming and the University of Oklahoma.
He served in the U.S. Army 29th Infantry Division from Oct. 11, 1943 to Jan. 18, 1946. He was wounded at St. Lo after landing on Omaha Beach. He received a Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Good Conduct medal, WWII Victory medal, European/African/Middle East medal, and two Croix de Guerre.
He married Janis Lee Maher on July 22, 1951 in Midwest, Wyo.
He was a member of Monument Hill Smicoma Club, American Institute of Metalurgic Engineers, Society of Petroleum Engineers, Renaisance Masonic Lodge in London, England, Masonic Lodge in Casper, Shrine Club in Rawlins, charter member Acacia Fraternity at the University of Wyoming.
He is survived by his wife, Janis of Momument; son Roc Allen and daughter-in-law Debora Beaver of Castle Rock, Colo.; Randee Lynn Beaver of Monument; three sisters, Mildred Shatto of Douglas, Merna McKillip of Batesville, Ark., and Beth Lunberg of Douglas; and his mother. He is preceded in death by his father.
Memorial contributions to the Shriner's Crippled Children's Fund would be appreciated by the family.
