Douglas Budget - January 29, 1992Funeral services for Milan Leroy Burden, 53, will be held Wednesday, Jan. 29, at 11 a.m. at the Converse Funeral Chapel in Douglas with Rev. Merrill Lanker of the Congregational United Church of Christ officiating.
Interment will be in the family plot at the Douglas Park Cemetery with the Samuel Mares American Legion Post No. 8 conducting military graveside rites.
Mr. Burden died Saturday, Jan. 25, 1992 at the Veteran's Home of Wyoming in Buffalo, Wyo., of an apparent heart attack.
He was born May 21, 1938 in Douglas, the son of Perry Richard and LuAda(Roberts)Burden. He was reared and educated in Douglas, graduating from the Douglas High School in 1957. Following graduation from high school he worked at the Pacific Power and Light Plant in Glenrock.
He was drafted into the United States Army, and served for two years. He was a disabled veteran, and had lived the past seven years in Buffalo, Wyo., at the Veteran's Home of Wyoming.
He was a member of the First Christian Church in Ogden, Utah. He loved to paint and loved the outdoors, especially the mountains. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his one brother, Robert L. Burden of Bountiful, Utah; three sisters, Ethel Gass of Douglas; Helen Epperly of Glenrock, and twin sister, Mrs. Albert(Marie)Aeschlimann of Ogden, Utah; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Commodore P. Burden.
Serving as pallbearers will be Gerald Epperly, Jerry Payne, Don Steckley, Gerald Hoffman, Glen Russell and Buck Shelden.
A memorial to the American Heart Association would be appreciated by the family.
The Converse Funeral Chapel of Douglas is in charge of the arrangements.
Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
