Douglas Budget - August 23, 1989Funeral services for Thomas E. Burkholder, 40, were held Aug. 19 at the Converse Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jon Laughlin of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Interment was in the Douglas Park Cemetery.
Mr. Burkholder died Wednesday, Aug. 16, 1989 at his home in Douglas, following a sudden illness.
He was born June 16, 1949 in Williamsport, Pa., the son of Lawrence and Elizabeth(Faughnan)Burkholder. He was reared and educated in Williamsport. He worked for Gerald Electronics as a cable lineman for several years. He moved to Douglas in 1982, where he worked for various construction companies and the cable television company. At the time of his death he was employed by Dry Creek Construction. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and an avid fisherman.
He was married to Peggy Campbell on July 21, 1989 in Douglas.
He is survived by his father, Lawrence Burkholder, of Williamsport; his mother, Betty Mayer of Douglas; his wife Peggy, of Douglas; son, Erik Burkholder of Williamsport; brothers, Joohn Burkholder of Williamsport and Joe Burkholder of Douglas; niece, Nicki Burkholder of Douglas; nephew, Kevin Burkholder of Williamsport; stepsons, Brian Campbell of Douglas and Barry Campbell with the U.S. Marines in North Carolina; stepdaughter, Monica Campbell of Douglas and three step-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers were Joe Burkholder, Dutch Faughnan, Brian Campbell, Charles Edwards, Tim Eklund and Don Gonzales.
A memorial to the choice of the donor would be appreciated by the family.
The Converse Funeral Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.
