Mr. Batton died May 16, 1995, at the Huddersfield Royal Infirmary after a lengthy illness. He was born Aug. 30, 1953, in Douglas and grew up in Wyoming, Montana, and Alaska. Mr. Batton received his B.A. from the University of Montana at Missoula. He also attended the Juliard's School of Music in New York City.
Mr. Batton's interest in life evolved around singing, dancing and the theater. He was co-owner of the "Dabhand" Performance Company in England; he wrote, produced and performed musical plays. Dabhand also worked with the local schools. Mr. Batton enjoyed singing with an international choral group as well.
He is survived by his parents, Helen and Frank Batton of Douglas, and two brothers, Bruce Batton of Clam Gulch, Alaska, and Bill Batton of Akron, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Batton Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. John Yardley.
The family requests donations in his memory be made to the Hamilton Street Singers Scholarship Fund at Converse County Bank, Drawer 689, Douglas.
