DEANE BRAAE DIES IN IDAHO

Douglas Budget - February 18, 1965

Deane Braae passed away recently at Sandpoint, Idaho. He was 63 years old. His parents were pioneers in this area and on the Sybille. His mother died about a year and a half ago. His father, Andrew Braae, and his eldest brother, Alvin, were killed in 1915 when their threshing machine crashed through a bridge on the Esterbrook road opposite the Bruner ranch-land. His mother then homesteaded where the Braae post office was located. Even as a youth, Deane was an excellent cook, his specialties being light bread and biscuits. Survivors include his brother, Leonard, four sisters, Beulah Bricker, Gladys Spracklen, Mildred Bricker, and Irene Schrake, an aunt, Mrs. W.C. Brose of Mentone, Calif., and an uncle, Steve Braae of Seal Beach, Calif. Mrs. John Dunn and Mrs. Forest West are cousins.
