Douglas Budget - October 23, 2002Funeral services for Clyde T. Brooks, 64, will be held at 10 a.m. Oct. 26 at the First Baptist Church in Douglas with Pastor Frank Wiederrecht officiating. Interment will be at Douglas Park Cemetery.
Mr. Brooks died Oct. 20, 2002, at Wyoming Medical Center following a lengthy illness.
He was born Feb. 21, 1938, in Salt Wells to Theodore and Thelma(Claypool)Brooks. He was reared and educated at Superior. His 40-year career in the natural gas industry began following his high school graduation at age 18.
His assignments began in Green River, and then took him to Baker, Ore., Caldwell, Idaho, Mount Vernon, Wash., Sumas, Wash., Salt Lake City and then back to Green River, where he retired.
On Feb. 3, 1968, he married Lila M. Riley in Caldwell. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, rock hunting, cooking and building. He was a born-again Christian and was active in the churches in the various towns where he resided. The couple moved to Douglas in 1999.
Mr. Brooks is survived by his wife Lila of Douglas; children Rhonda and husband Jeff Snyder of Janesville, Wis., Barry A. Brooks of Salt Lake City and Brian and Jennifer Brooks of Douglas; brother Charles Brooks of Billings, Mont.; sisters Delma Guthrie of Ozark, Ark., and DeVonne Myers of Buffalo; and grandchildren Anthony Dransfield and Adam Spangler of Janesville and Blake, Bailey and Brady Brooks of Douglas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Carrol Brooks; and sister Doris DeCora.
Serving as pallbearers will be John Walsh, Brad Brooks, Ron Brooks, Paul Kozisek, Harold Jackson, Ray Dietz, Hank Uitterdyk and Ron Hayes.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Lukey, Harry Hathaway, Dick Green and John Wilfong.
Converse Funeral Chapel of Douglas is in charge of the arrangements.
Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 25.
