Douglas Budget - September 25, 1996Memorial services for Edith Best, 84, were Sunday, Sept. 22, at Christ Episcopal Church and will be scheduled for a later date in Riverside, Calif.
Mrs. Best died Sept. 22, 1996, at McComb's Retirement Center in Douglas.
She was born July 11, 1912, in Billings to Andrew and Edith(Shirt)Greenleaf. She attended school in Billings.
She married Robert Best of Powell on July 16, 1937. They made their home in Laramie before moving to Casper where they lived until 1983, when they retired to Riverside.
Mrs. Best was a member of Highgrove United Methodist Church in Riverside.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Raymond and Arthur; and husband Robert and son, Michael who died Sept. 19, 1996.
Survivors include sister Evelyn Stull of Irvine, Calif.; daughters Lee Ann Siebken of Douglas and Judy Ellen Smith of Moreno Valley, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Memorial gifts to Southern Methodist University, Michael Best Scholarship Fund may be sent in care of Converse Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box X, Douglas.
Converse Funeral Chapel was in charge of the arrangements. Cremation has already taken place.
