DIES IN MINNESOTA
Douglas Budget - August 25, 1960Mrs. Earl E. Barrett, Lucille Magee, daughter of William Magee, died of cancer at her home at Long Lake, near Hawick, Minnesota August 16, 1960.
Born at Peoria, Illinois March 11, 1906, she came with her parents to Douglas in 1907. She attended Douglas schools and grew up here. She went to DesMoines, Iowa in 1923 where she married Earl Barrett.
They lived in DesMoines 33 years, moving to Minnesota 4 years ago. She was a member of Jordon Methodist Church and Acme Rebekah Lodge at DesMoines.
She loved Douglas and returned here as often as her health permitted.
Survivors include her father, stepmother, her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Merna King of Norwalk, Iowa; and Delores Goulden of DesMoines; three grandchildren, the Goulden children of DesMoines; four brothers, Roy Magee, Loves Park, Illinois; Ray Magee, Douglas; Wesley Magee, Bothell, Washington; Fred Magee, Ulciah, Cal.; a stepbrother John Murray of Riverton, Wyo.; and a stepsister, Mrs. Mae Berry, of Douglas.
Funeral services and burial were held Saturday August 20 at DesMoines. Those from Douglas attending were Mr. and Mrs. Ray Magee, William Magee, and Mrs. Mae Berry.
