Douglas Budget - August 7, 1996Funeral services for Lance J. Brady, 14, of Gillette, were July 30 at St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Gillette with Father Drew Duncan as celebrant.
Burial was at Mount Pisgah Cemetery in Gillette. He died July 26, 1996, in Gillette as a result of a drowning accident.
Brett was born Sept. 24, 1986, in Gillette to Mark and Bonnie Jo(Garrigan)Brady. He attended elementary school in Rozet and junior high school at Twin Spruce Junior High School in Gillette. He would have been in the ninth grade at Campbell County High School.
Lance played basketball and enjoyed snow skiing and the outdoors. His true love was roping and riding horses. He participated in Little Levi Rodeos, the American Cowboy Team Roping Associating, and had participated in many ropings in Douglas. He was a member of 4-H and United States Team Roping Associating. His life dream was to be in the high school national finals in calf and team roping and make it to the NFR.
He worked with his dad and honored friend Kenny Carzoli in the family business. He spent time with his many friends who helped him with his roping.
He is survived by his parents, sister Jolene Brady, paternal grandparents Jim and Carolann Brady, paternal great-grandmother Dolores Brady, and maternal grandfather Frank Garrigan, all of Gillette.
