LITTLE BROWN BOY LOSES HIS LIFE

SUNDAY Tragedy Takes Place On North Second Street This City OIL WELL CAVES IN

Douglas Enterprise - April 19, 1927

While frolicking in the yard with his little playmates last Sunday about noon, James LeRoy Brown, 2-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Clark Brown, residing on North Second st. in this city, lost his life when the banks of an old abandoned well caved in as he approached the place, and the little chap drowned in three feet of muddy water before he could be rescued by his grief-stricken parents.

James LeRoy Brown was 2 years, 5 months and 17 days old at the time of his death. He will be sadly missed by his many little playmates in his neighborhood, and the parents of the little chap have the sympathy of the entire community in this, their darkest hour. He has found rest and happiness with the Good Father.

Funeral services were held from the Hoffman funeral parlors in this city last Monday, conducted by J. Edward Ledbetter, and the body was laid to rest in the Douglas cemetery.
