Harry T. Blackburn, one of the organizers of the Maverick bank, one of the very first to be formed in eastern Wyoming, and in that early day about 1886 located on the corner of Second and Center streets, passed to his reward in California Monday, Mrs. Sarah E. Morton of this city was advised in a telegram received this morning from friends.

Mr. Blackburn will be remembered by many of the old-timers of the community as a gentleman of fine qualities. Leaving this city he went to Des Moines, Ia., where he became the vice-president of the Iowa City National bank, one of the larger and stronger financial institutions of that state. About two years ago he retired from active business life and has since spent much of his time in California where a son resides, it is understood.

The funeral is to be Saturday it was thought at the time the message to Mrs. Morton was sent.
