FUNERAL HELD FOR PIONEER

Funeral services were held Sunday at 1 p.m. from the Hofmann chapel for Joseph Peter Burger, 67, pioneer sheepman who died Thursday night in Douglas.

Mr. Burger was born in St. Louis, Mo., June 26, 1865 and came to this country at an early age. First coming to Cheyenne, he later removed to this county and spent practically all his life here. He worked in the sheep business and made many friends among the old-time residents, many of whom have preceded him in death. He was never married.

He is survived by three sisters and a brother-in-law, all of whom were present at the funeral. They were Miss L. Burger, Cheyenne; Mr. and Mrs. Wagler, Cheyenne, and Mrs. G.C. Pickering of Laramie.

Services were under the auspices of the Odd Fellows Lodge, with Rev. Clayton Judy as officiating minister. Burial was in Douglas cemetery.
