CHARLEY BENHAM DIES AT
Douglas Budget - September 10, 1940Charley Benham, 35, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. George Benham of Douglas, died at Spokane, Wash., on August 31 and was buried last Tuesday, September 3 at Spokane.
Benham was reared here, coming to Douglas in 1916. He attended the local schools, worked at the Cross and several other ranches, before leaving here three years ago this fall.
His death resulted from an injury, received when a scaffold fell on his neck. He followed carpentry, learning the first part of that trade in the Douglas high school.
Besides his widow and three children, he is survived by the following relatives, all of whom attended the funeral services;
His parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Benham; three sisters, Mrs. Clarence Carpenter, Mrs. Maude Bloom, Mrs. Betty Pickinpaugh, all of Douglas; two brothers, George Benham, Jr., of Casper, and Jim Benham of Spring Falls, Ida., Mr. and Mrs. Art Wilson of Casper, a grandson of the George Benhams, and his wife, also went to Spokane for the funeral.
