Marilyn June Rodeman Alexander, age 46, died May 18, 1980 in Casper after a lengthy illness. Services will be held on May 22 at 10 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church.

Marilyn was born August 16, 1933 at Hemingford, Nebraska to Charles Everett Daniel and Lillian Dolly Grace Shimek Rodeman, one of seven children.

In very early years she moved to LaGrange, Wyoming with her family where she received all of her elementary and high school schooling.

She was an active member of the Community Church, Quill and Scroll Society--an International Honorary Society for High School Journalist in 1949-50.

Marilyn graduated from LaGrange High School as salutatorian of her class of 19(sic).. with a four year Honor Scholarship to the University of Wyoming. In 1950-51 she entered the Southeast University Center in Torrington where she was active as a cheerleader, usher of the graduating exercises, and a member of the Delta Psi Omega, National Honorary Dramatic Fraternity. She began her teaching career in the LaBonte Community, White School in 1951.

In 1962 she continued her teaching career and sought future education by correspondence and extension and attending summer school at the University of Wyoming. 1972 brought her life goal realization of graduation with a BA Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Wyoming.

She continued to serve our youth by guiding them through their educational days in School District No. 1, Converse County.

Marilyn Became a member of the St. James Catholic Church in 1953 and had been active ever since. She was a member of the Douglas Catholic Women, Wyoming Education Association, Douglas F.F.A. Alumni, University of Wyoming Alumni, American Legion Auxiliary, Wyoming and Converse County Cowbelles, Wyoming Arts for Youth, American National Red Cross, LaBonte-Wagonhound Homemakers and Farm Bureau, Republic Women and Jackalope Racing Association.

Survivors include her sons Daniel Lee, Dennis Normak, Mark Alan and Kurt Lee Patrick, all of Douglas; brother James Arthur Charles Rodeman of Nebraska City, Nebraska; sisters Evelyn Joyce Wunder of Riverton, Shirley Jean Henderson of Casper, Edris Elaine Wilson of Lusk, Vlasta Caroline Johnson of Shoshoni and Mrs. Sharon Irene O'Neil of Riverton; parents Dan Rodeman of Fort Laramie and Lillian Rodeman of Riverton; step mother, Leona Rodeman of Fort Laramie and several nieces and nephews.

Burial was in the Douglas Park Cemetery. The family requests memorials to the Converse County Bank Throat Culture Program or the Rancher's Memorial Fund.
