Oscar Carlson, 73, pioneer LaPrele settler, died Tuesday, April 26, after an illness of many months. Mr. Carlson was born in Sweden Sept. 16, 1875, and came to this country at an early age. He came to Douglas from Omaha and was one of the first settlers under the LaPrele project. He is survived by his widow, Hanna; one son, Irving O. of Douglas; a daughter, Mrs. Martha Thompson of Lance Creek, and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow (Friday) at 2:30 p.m. at the Congregational church with Rev. Gale officiating. Burial will be in Douglas Park cemetery. Pallbearers will be Henning Larson, Oliver Roush, Robt. Anderson, Ed Werner, A.C. Ayers and Chas Huntzinger.
