Funeral services were held this Thursday afternoon at the Congregational church for Mrs. Blanch Carothers, 79, pioneer lady of this area, who died March 3 at Memorial hospital. The Rev. Peter Sherman officiated and burial was in Douglas Park cemetery.

Mrs. Carothers had been a resident of the LaBonte Wagonhound community for 75 years, coming here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred George, pioneer ranchers, when she was four years of age.

Survivors include three sons, George W. and Arthur of Douglas and Mathew of Casper; one daughter, Mrs. Dale Anderson of Douglas; two brothers, Fred George of Douglas and Guy George of Alamosa, Colo.; two sisters, Mrs. Maude Nunn of Douglas and Mrs. Bertha Paswater of Yuba City, Cal.; seven grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

She was a member of the Congregational church, Rebakah Lodge and LaBonte Homemakers.

Mrs. Carothers spent practically her entire life on a ranch southwest of Douglas and was active in the ranching business and community affairs until her death.
