Douglas Budget - September 2, 1954Funeral services were held Saturday at the Congregational church for Shirley S. Call, 70, who passed away last Thursday morning at the Munkres rest home. Mr. Call, an insurance and real estate salesman during the 46 years he resided in Douglas, was active in civic affairs until his retirement and was a dedicator of the Pleasant View addition.
He was born September 12, 1883, in Manchester, N.H.,the son of Shirley and Harriet Call. He moved to Wyoming at the age of 22 and settled in Douglas where he raised his family. His wife, Harriet, and one son, Bradford, preceded him in death.
Mr. Call was a member of the Masonic lodge and had been a deacon and active member of the Congregational church for many years.
Survivors include four children, Norman of Lusk; Lilas of Buffalo; Mrs. Eleanor Johnson of Casper; and Mrs. Harriet Thompson of Lance Creek; and four grandchildren.
Burial was in Douglas Park cemetery with Rev. H.H. Lindeman in charge of the services. Pallbearers were Burl Jones, Tom Curtin, Ben LeVasseur, Lloyd Bruegeman, Ted Daniels, and Irving Carlson.
